Adaptive Expeditions and Creating Ability are traveling to Cincinnati for a 2.5 day training workshop to become a certified American Canoe Association (ACA) Adaptive Paddling Instructor. Our friends at the Mason Community Center will be lending their pool and their classroom space to make this happen. Our hope is to establish a network of instructors throughout the Cincinnati Area who are confident in making paddling accessible for all.

What Does The Training Entail?
You will learn everything you need to know adaptive paddling, including interviewing adaptive paddlers, transferring, and equipment needed. You will have hands on experience with modifying and outfitting kayaks. On Day 3, you will spend time in the water with individuals with disabilities to put your new skills to the test and ensure confidence with working with anyone and everyone on the water, regardless of ability.
Day 1 (Evening) and Day 2 (All Day)
July 29th and 30th - Adaptive paddling classroom instruction
Day 3 (All Day)
July 31st - Equipment Outfitting and on-water student instruction
Have a Disability and Want to Paddle?
On July 31st, we will need 5 individuals with a physical disability to help with the on-water portion of training. Email Renee@thebridgeadaptive.org if interested and stay alert for a registration link.
